We are looking to recruit a skilled communications professional who can bring excellent writing and content sourcing skills to this new role in our program. This person will also have a role in co-ordinating various conservation activities of the program. This person will be instrumental in creation and delivery of content for both internal and external communications. The Co-ordinator will work closely with the research and conservation team of the Eastern Himalaya Program, providing editorial, creative and operational support to the program. No minimum experience is required.
Skills
The ideal candidate will have excellent copywriting and editorial skills plus an eye for design. Comfort with online content management systems as well as databases will be a plus. MS Office and basic web skills are essential; Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) skills will be welcomed. Some knowledge of India’s wildlife and of conservation issues will be an advantage.

Responsibilities
• Communication & Project co-ordination
o Communications with existing and prospective donors of the Hornbill Nest Adoption Program (HNAP)
o Internal communications with NCF admin and EHP program staff
o Co-ordination with the EHP staff for ongoing field projects
• Fund-raising:
o Collate, develop, write/edit content for fund-raising proposals and campaigns
o Selling merchandise (occasional)
• Data management:
o HNAP donor database
o Photo library
o Information/data for past and ongoing projects of the EHP
o Data collected by the Hornbill Watch website
• Reporting:
o Assistance in compilation/design/editing of reports
o Reports for the HNAP and Hornbill Watch website
o Periodic reports for the Forest Department, funding agencies, and others.
• Social media communication and websites
o Mange our social media accounts and interact with supporters
o Hornbill watch – soliciting, managing contributions
o Updating content on NCF website and Hornbill watch website
• Be willing to go beyond defined job responsibilities when the need arises
Location and pay
This position is based out of NCF’s Bangalore office. It will be a contract position, and pay will be commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience.
