Project Assistant (DeLCON) DeLCON: Department of Biotechnology e-Library Consortium (DeLCON)

DBT e-Library Consortium (DeLCON) is a unique Electronic Journal Consortium which is Operational since January 1st 2009. Currently the Consortium includes 14 DBT Institutions including ICGEB, New Delhi and 18 North Eastern Region (NER) Institutions. The Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Programme (BIRAP), New Delhi is also part of DeLCON. Now, the total 'DeLCON Members' are 33. A total of 917 selective Journals and a Database (SCOPUS) are covered under DeLCON. These all are accessible by the DeLCON Consortium Members through the DeLCON Portal (http://delcon.gov.in). Others can also view and access abstracts of papers as free of costs. The DeLCON are functioning in the field of : Life Science; Biotechnology; Bioengineering; Bioinformatics and related areas.

Job Profile at NBRC (Under DeLCON Project)

Presently I’m working as Project Assistant (DeLCON); and I’m take care various responsibilities in the field of Library such like:
1. Procurement of Books; Serial Control, Acquisition and Circulation of Library holdings (Books and Journals); Inter Library Loan Survives (ILL) with DeLNeT and out 49 other resources centers, providing PDF articles through email to our Research Community, (Internal, Associated and other who are required for Research Work only);
2. Using Libsys (LSEase) for Library Automation (Serial Control, Acquisition, Circulation etc. ) , making awareness and providing better platform for our Research Communities, that they would optimized theirs capabilities in their respective research areas.
3. Salving of Books and Journals, in subjective order and alphabetical order, maintenance of Subscription.
4. Processing of Invoice/Bills of various publishers (DeLCON and NBRC), Report preparation on various matter, Listing of Journal, Free Journals, Free Trail Access, Budget Maintenance, Audit Objection
5. Cataloguing of Electronic Journals with Network Members.
6. Noting and Drafting regarding subscription of Journals, Procurement of Books, (Releases the PO, Payment of Invoices: procurement and Subscription both)
7. Prepare the ‘DeLCON Agenda for meeting, Citation and Indexing work of Scientist (Finding the H Index)
8. Connected with Publishers for uninterrupted access of journals to our centre, Reading and analyzing of License Agreement and Memorandum of Agreement of various publishers and negotiated with them.
9. And Other Assignment which is given by our competent Authority.
