Promising career on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) offered by Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has earned significance among the corporate entities in the country amid the market oriented economic structure. A sense of social responsibility among the corporate can notably contribute to the national development in partnership with the government, NGOs and Community Based Organizations (CBOs). The Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 has mandated corporate entities for more extensive engagement in community development and environmental conservation. As per the expert view, given the mandate for CSR under the Companies Act, 2013, it is estimated that the career prospects and job avenues for trained and certified CSR professionals would be about 50,000 in the next couple of years. Keeping in view the demand for trained and certified professionals in the area of CSR, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), an Institute of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, has launched a Nine Month Certificate Programme in CSR (ICP-CSR) commencing from October 2014. The Omeo Kumar Das Institute of Social Change and Development (OKDISCD) has been selected as one of the Partner Institutes in the country for conducting the Course in the North-eastern Region.
